Type 2 diabetes mellitus - Insulin Therapy :

A major feature of type 2 diabetes is a lack of sensitivity to insulin by the body cells.

There is a direct relationship between the degree of obesity and the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes, and this holds true in children as well as adults.

Obesity is found in approximately 55% of patients diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.

However, severe long-term complications can result from unnoticed type 2 diabetes that includes renal failure due to diabetic nephropathy, vascular disease, vision damage due to diabetic retinopathy, loss of sensation or pain due to diabetic neuropathy, and liver damage.
